Hosting
Hosting Services

Do you need a web site for your business, but don’t know what type of server to buy, or perhaps you don't know how to setup a web site, even if you had a server? Perhaps you need temporary storage space, but can’t afford to set up your own FTP server. Would you like to implement off-site backups, but can’t foot the bill for all that software and hardware? Or maybe you want your own Email server, but can’t afford the software and licenses, let alone hiring a Microsoft Exchange Administrator to manage it?

If you find yourself identifying with any of these depictions, or if these circumstances relate to the current state of your business, or match your current needs, then hosting might be what you need. Rather than purchasing a server for up to several thousand dollars, an operating system for up to $500 (or more), a UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) for $200 to $300 or more (to prevent system crashes caused by sudden loss of electrical power), and up to $50 or more a month in bandwidth charges, not to mention a backup device and/or software (to save regular copies of your web site’s content and/or other data), why not share space on one of our servers with some of our other customers for a minimal charge? Or, if you absolutely must have your own server, why not rent or lease to own a dedicated server from us, containing your choice of Memory and CPU configuration? You can even choose the operating system you want installed.

Regardless of whether your setup is simple, or whether you need a complex configuration involving database driven web pages, or even whether you’d like to host your own services as an ASP (Application Service Provider), call MY WEBTEK now with the details, and we’ll have you set up in no time. Let us handle the headache of backing up your data, or fixing quirky hardware or software. Besides, you have better things to do with your time, right? Let us handle your redundant Internet and power needs, and manage security for your site or server. Let us provide your gateway or host-based antivirus protection, or your SPAM Filtering needs. We can also handle your Firewall protection and/or Firewall management needs, your VPN management needs, or your PACS routing and archiving needs. Furthermore, we can manage any IDS or IPS needs you have for your site, server, or collocation assets, and much more. Call and ask about our Hosting Services today!!! We can also arrange financing for those who qualify.

Managed Services
Managed Services

MY WEBTEK is not only a Managed Services Provider (MSP), we build other IT Providers into MSPs as well. We are Elite N-Able Technologies Partners, thereby allowing us the ability to sell what we believe to be the number 1 managed services solution in the word, bar-known!!! As authorized resellers, we can sell direct to you, on behalf of N-Able, in a more personalized fashion, and without any middle-man costs (we are paid by N-Able on all sales, just like their own internal sales staff). As integrators, we can also configure the entire solution for you, and/or train your technical staff, executives, and sales staff, on its use, selling points, and much, much more. In fact, we will also host webinars for you and your sales staff, to make you more effective at selling managed services (for resellers), or using managed services (for internal IT departments).

The reactive approach to IT involves waiting until something breaks, and then after identifying that issue (which may take hours or even days to achieve), attempting to repair the issue or company asset that your business may very well rely on to function on a daily basis.

Note: Don’t feel ashamed if you’re company follows this approach. Believe it or not, I’ve even seen this type of approach practiced by IT Solutions Providers, whom you’d figure would realize the importance of being prepared for IT disasters.

The problem with this approach is that depending on what breaks, and how, you may run the risk of going out of business (depending on the extent of income lost, and/or the impact of the issue itself). If this is a chance you cannot, and are not, willing to take, then the obvious solution is to take a different approach. “What alternative is there?,” you ask. The answer, is to take a "Proactive Approach". Such an approach involves constant and repetitive monitoring of company assets, such as desktops, printers, servers, routers, firewalls, load balancers, etc… In addition, it involves trending, to forecast when hardware will no longer meet the demands being placed on it, so that preparations and/or purchases can be made ahead of time, thereby enabling a company to minimize down time (Note: This will also minimize cost, as your company will be less likely to make a “Panic Purchase”, and over pay for replacement software and/or hardware). Finally, it involves identifying issues (or the warning signs of emerging issues) as soon as they rear their ugly heads. After all, the faster you respond to an issue, the less likely that issue is to negatively impact your business.

If up-time is essential to your business, and if this sounds like an approach you’d like to transition to, then MY WEBTEK has the perfect solution for you. It is called Managed Services, and it is something that we offer, and which we will tailor to your specific needs, business and/or industry. Using state-of-the-art technology, our My Metrics offering (a fully-hosted and staffed solution, powered by N-Central) will monitor your company’s real-time system and network performance, vulnerabilities, and security threats. On a monthly basis we will also assess and analyze trends (and deliver our findings in a formal report), showing you things like the average system resource consumption (i.e.; CPU, Memory, Disk space, etc…), account activity, potential security holes and/or security violations (or attempted violations). We will also provide a means for regular software and operating system patching, remote access, and so much more.

Our solution double's as a secure form of remote access, from anywhere in the world that Internet access is available, and triples as an alerting system, so that if something breaks over night, or in the background, you can be alerted to it as fast as possible, thereby giving you the option to act on an IT-related disaster, before it starts affecting your business. We even sell this offering to company's who have their own internal IT departments, as it can be used to supplement over-utilized IT staff, and can help in times when budget restraints won't afford you the opportunity to hire another technician. It can even help a company in a bad economy to reduce its IT staff (or reduce the IT Budget), without suffering poor response times from the IT staff that remain.

Our My Metrics program can automate nearly 100% of all preventative maintenance tasks. Things like disk defrags, checking Event Viewer logs, running Disk Cleanups, performing Temp file removals, Temporary Internet file removals, Cookie removals, checking on backups, checking on antivirus to ensure it's updating and scanning regularly (and that it doesn't find something it can't clean), watching the perimeter of your network (i.e.; whether someone's attacking your router), analyzing the amount of bandwidth sent across switch ports or thru your router, and nearly everything else you can imagine. It quite literally makes maintaining a network as simple as reading emails. The solution does all the work, unless physical remediation is needed. But at that point, all of your network assets (or customer's assets, if you're a reseller) are accessible from one central, secure location. And if that wasn't good enough, remote access includes the ability to remediate more than 85% of all IT-related issues behind the scenes, using a built-in, ingenious collection of troubleshooting tools. This means your employees (or customer's end users, if you're a reseller) can continue working while we/you work on their systems, which helps to actually offset the customer's IT bill, by eliminating the loss of employee productivity normally experienced when an IT provider shows up at their office (in essence, it saves them from losing additional monies, by way of lost productivity). In fact, because our offering logs everything in a readily available and accessible report that can be exported to PDF or CSV format (all of which is accessible securely from the web), and/or reports on all issues via email, you can regularly review the results of diagnostic testing that is performed round-the-clock on your systems (or customer's systems, if you're a reseller) by our My Metrics offering, thereby reducing downtime associated with more than 75% of all issues experienced (i.e.; it almost eliminates the entire diagnostic process used to find out what the cause of an issue is, what the symptoms are, and much more, thereby allowing you to get things back up and running ASAP). For the average customer without an IT department or provider, but rather one who's looking, using this solution will reduce your IT bill, because diagnostics cost money. Hence, if it takes 2-3 minutes to troubleshoot an issue, it's a heck of a lot less expensive than an hour, 2 hours, 6-8 hours, a day, or longer.

Furthermore, the toolsets available for use in the various different types of remote access offered (RDP, VNC, Remote Support Manager, RAdmin, HTTP, HTTPS, Telnet, SSH, and Intel vPro) make you not only capable as a technician, of providing support without traveling (for those of you interested in being resellers, or even for those internal IT support staff who normally drive between buildings or have to walk between floors and in and out of offices all day), it can also allow you to work in the background while your end users continue working (i.e.; without disrupting them nearly 90% of the time). Plus, an optional Environmental Manager functionality allows an easy interface for creating printer assignments, mapping network drives, mapping shortcuts, creating login scripts, enhancing security and/or locking down peripherals, and much more, enabling one person to literally manage hundreds of devices with very little effort. For the IT manager or concerned business owner, other features like "Monitor Host Screen" can allow you to view an employee's screen secretly, without their knowledge, to determine whether inappropriate use of your systems or data is occurring (this feature has other uses as well, for example, such as for viewing an end user's screen for errors they're calling you about, if your the IT guy, without necessarily having to take control of their systems, mouse and keyboard, and has an option to notify end users of your viewing their screens, in case they are writing a private email, or what have you.). Please note, however, that it is important to inform your employees before hand, when looking to use this particular feature to monitor employee behavior (to protect your rights), that the system they are using is company property, and that they have no expectation of privacy. This should actually be done in writing, put as something they should sign as having read and understood. We also offer policy management services, however, should you want or need any of the following documents to be created for you, or if you perhaps just don't know what to include: Disaster Recovery Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, User Account Policy, Remote Access Policy (if applicable), Password Protection Policy, Internet Use Policy, or LAN Security Policy.

For the Reseller, we have a very unique opportunity available. We can provide you with a fully-hosted managed services solution, which you simply sell, at up to 600% markup. It is an absolute zero dollar investment. You don't have to buy a single thing up front, just sell it like you would any other piece of hardware or software. As you sell it, you take a contract with us for the licenses you will use on behalf of your customers, but you only buy from us, as you sell to your own customers. And, you don't have to do a single second of work. We'll take care of it all for you. The solution includes weekly patch reports and monthly Managed Services Reports/Reviews (which we can rebrand in your name), free accounts for you and your customers, to use for remote access or checking on things. You will also have the option to receive notification emails and alerts, and to be put on notification escalation lists. And we provide the hardware and software, and maintain them as well. It's an all inclusive package, including your data being backed up regularly, and retained for 1 year (with regard to the metrics the monitoring solution collects about your customer's systems), and it also includes the fees we pay to host the entire solution in a redundant data center, while also covering bandwidth fees. It includes free training for your technicians, and free sales training for your sales staff. It also includes sales support, by us, to assist in sales calls, webinars, or what have you. That's right, we'll actually help your sales people sell your product!!! We can provide you with Data Sheets rebranded in your company name and with your company logo, and the solution itself can be rebranded in your company name and with your company logo.

But selling and configuring a managed services platform alone doesn't make us able to build other companies into MSPs. There are a few other components that a Managed Services Provider needs to deliver effective services, on behalf of their client-base. To start with, a ticketing system is also needed. Employee or Technician's time needs to be documented, along with the tasks that they performed, so that proper amounts of time are reflected in billing, and so that proper analysis of an employee or technician's utilization, can be recorded. Without proper documentation of time, a service provider effectively cheats themselves, and loses money on the time they pay their employee for, when technicians are dispatched to a site, or connect in remotely, for technical support. Likewise, without documenting internal IT staff and their utilization, a company is hindered in its ability to accurately assess the burden placed on their present internal IT staff, which thereby makes it impossible to accurately supplement staff with outside, outsourced IT support, or to accurately gauge how many additional IT staff should be hired, to tackle the current load being placed on the company's IT department(s). These functionalities and much more, are all present within the ticketing system that we implement for new MSPs, called AutoTask. As AutoTask Resellers and Integrators, we can not only sell you the ticketing system itself, but we can also configure and/or train you and your staff on its effective use. AutoTask allows for the creation of a variety of different contracts, including Time and Materials, Contract, and Block Hours, and also allows for the creation of web-based quotes, which can be emailed to the customer in the form of a link, when pricing is requested. AutoTask also allows for a dispatch board, for department managers or directors, and allows for web-based access, anywhere that Internet access is available. AutoTask also supports integration with mobile devices like PDAs, which ensures that employee's or IT technician's time can always be documented, while the tech is working, thereby lessening the likeliness that the company will loss billable time, or the likeliness that an internal IT staff's utilization averages will be skewed. But then AutoTask does much more than that. It allows for the integration of Microsoft Exchange Calendar's, so that events noted in AutoTask will match other domain-based calendar's in use by staff or employees. It also allows for the direct export into QuickBooks, so that accounting staff can easily post and print invoices, but in batch processes, which speeds up the invoicing process 10 fold. There are many more functions supported in AutoTask, but far to many to go into detail here.

One final important component for MSPs and company's with internal Help Desk environments, is a standalone remote access platform. For customers not currently covered under a managed services platform (which by itself provides remote access capabilities), a solution is needed to allow remote access to user's systems, so that an internal technician's time can be better utilized (meaning they spend less time traveling from room to room, floor to floor, remote office to remote office, etc...), and so that end users can receive the fastest remediation possible, thereby cutting down on lost productivity, which equate to wages paid by a company, for no work. NTR, a separate product manufactured by N-Able Technologies, provides a vast number of different functionalities, and is far more cost effective than competitor's solutions on the market, including the likes of GoToMyPC, Logmein, GoToAssist, and others. For less than the cost of just two users under GoToAssist, a company can get 5 simultaneous users in NTR, not to mention more features, many of which are revolutionary. Features like "On-Line Status", which shows customers or end users when technicians are available for support. Another feature, allows end users or customers to leave messages within NTR for technical staff or outside technicians, allowing technical staff to know when end users have returned, for instances where remote assistance is needed, and allowing for updates from end users, regarding whether previous fixes or modifications during support remediated end user's issues. Yet another feature, allows for Chat between all users within NTR, thereby allowing technicians or technical staff to coordinate, ask each other questions, or even escalate. Still another feature allows remote access sessions to be handed off from one technician to another, in their entirety, without first having to disconnect and reconnect from the client (a process which could take as long as 30 minutes normally). On the subject of remote access, NTR supports remote connectivity with not only Windows, but also Linux, Mac, and even Windows Mobile devices, allowing you to check configurations or reconfigure mail settings, for example, on mobile user's phones. NTR can also be used as a webinar or training tool, and supports VOIP for both presenter and audience. There are many other aspects to NTR which make it appealing, including its ability to establish remote access in 30 seconds or less, making it perhaps the fastest solution we've ever seen, its ability to establish remote access in many different forms, including via an email link, an agent, via a hyperlink on a web site, and others, but when you roll all of these features into one single solution, you have perhaps the best standalone remote access platform ever made, which can be rebranded with your own company name and logo, and which is ideal for completing the Managed Services package.

Network & IT Policy Management
Network and IT Policy Management Services

Word of mouth is great for growing a business, but unfortunately not for running one. Just as you should have an employee sign things like non-compete agreements and non-disclosure agreements, you should also have them read and understand network policies. After all, someone who claims to have told an employee about their company’s lack of tolerance for sexual harassment, will have a hard time proving that (without a signed document), should they ever get sued by a disgruntled employee.

But so much more is needed in addition, in order to promote network security and network up-time. Your employees need professional direction regarding how to keep passwords from being cracked, basic steps to prevent from getting viruses, proper protocol for handing out passwords or access to network assets, how to maintain there personal equipment (your company assets, so that they don't infect or crash your business’ network), etc.... Trust MY WEBTEK to educate your business in policy management, and to help you develop the kind of policies for your company, which are recommended by Fortune 500 and 1000 companies throughout the country and even world. For Disaster Recovery Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, User Account Policy, Remote Access Policy, Password Protection Policy, Internet Use Policy, and LAN Security Policy needs, call MY WEBTEK today!!!

Remote Support
Remote Support

At MY WEBTEK we offer Remote Support Services in order to save you money. The fact of the matter is that over 95% of all IT issues can be resolved remotely. In fact, the only time a technician needs to come out to your location, is when hardware is physically broken or damaged. While this remains an indisputable fact, many IT Support providers are still dispatching technicians 80-100% of the time in order to resolve IT issues.

This translates directly onto you (the customer) in the form of higher IT costs. Rest assured that factored into these IT firm’s rates, are mileage and/or fuel fees, not to mention fees to cover their tech’s travel time. For example: One notable IT firm in Phoenix, AZ, charges a $50 minimum just to get a technician out to their customer’s site (it costs even more if you are out of their local region), plus a mileage fee, and then charges as much as $99-$165/hr for support.

Note: Not only does on-site support cost you the customer more, but it also costs the company providing the support as well. While technicians are busy traveling to and from locations, they spend less time resolving actual IT issues. This translates into longer wait times for their customers, as IT firms have fewer resources to handle their workloads.

Risk Assessment
Risk Assessment

Odds are that you’ve never really had any type of Risk Assessment performed for your business before, regardless of how important it can be to your company’s success, and perhaps its future as well. And one of the reasons you’ve never really paid attention to Risk Management (the process implemented following a risk assessment), is that you’ve either a) never had an IT Company recommend it to you, or b) because the IT company or personnel tasked with providing your business' IT support in the past, didn't know how to conduct a proper Risk Assessment.

“So why is Risk Assessment important?” you ask. Let’s say you’re dealing with a limited budget, but you have some IT needs that must be addressed. How do you go about deciding how much money to dedicate to a variety of different issues? The answer is, based on what your company can’t afford to do without. Thus, if you have five servers that are old, out of warranty, and/or which are no longer supported by their vendor, and most importantly, that are in need of replacing, but; one of the servers hosts your business' accounting and payroll software, and let’s say you only have enough money to buy one server a month, the server with the payroll and accounting software should get replaced first. After all, it would be a little hard to conduct business without being able to cut checks, bill customers, and track purchases.

Sounds like common sense right? The fact of the matter, however, is that there are IT companies out there making suggestions for companies like yours, when they’ve never determined what really needs fixing, adjustment, or replacing on their customer's networks, in a formal, proven fashion. Let MY WEBTEK guide you through assessing your IT environment the proper way, using proven methods used by Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies alike. From that point on, regardless of who you decide to have manage your IT needs, you and they alike will have a clear understanding of how your environment works, and you and they alike will also have the proper tools to properly manage your environment. Product Procurement
Product Procurement

Are you looking to make a hardware or software purchase? Many companies try going directly to the vendor (like the HP.com web site, for example), but when all is said and done, find themselves in the middle of a nightmare that they can't wake up from. The reason, is that when you go direct to the vendor, you're dealing with a salesperson, who has little or no technical knowledge at all about what they are selling, or what protections you as a customer should have in your network. And if that wasn't bad enough, you almost always pay list price when going thru the vendor directly (versus when going thru a "Value Added Reseller", or "VAR"). When you purchase thru an Authorized Reseller (VAR), however, you almost always get better pricing, and you are dealing with someone who normally has a vast amount of technical knowledge. What this means, is that you know you're getting the right solution, to meet your company's individual needs (versus the solution that pays the best commission to a vendor's salesperson).

What's more, you get more options, because most Authorized Resellers sell more than just a single brand of hardware/software. At MY WEBTEK, we pride ourselves on researching and quoting out the ideal solution for your company, both functionality-wise, and cost-wise. We have access to well over 5,200,000 products. We work with our customers to determine not only what they'd like, but what they need, and/or beyond.

For example, many servers come with a single power supply. Some people don't realize, however, that if a power supply dies, your server is down hard, until the power supply can be replaced. Servers are made, however, with what are known as "Redundant Power Supplies", which means that in the event one power supply fails, another is there to automatically take its place (meaning your server doesn't crash, and won't be down as a business, while you're shopping for a replacement part). The same type of redundancy is normally available for hard drives. It's known as RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks). So in essence, if one hard drive fails, another (or multiple others) is/are there to take its place. The point, however, is that most people don't know what their options are, because the average salesman is not an IT Professional, and as such, doesn't know what's important to a network.

I'm referring, of course, to things like (1) redundancy - failover capabilities; (2) availability - uptime; (3) scalability - the ability to grow your server, network, etc...; (4) Performance - this one's pretty self-explanatory; and (5) Usability - "easy of use?".

Here's the facts. If you haven't attended a college that teaches Information Technology, few of the benefits I've just listed, mean anything to you (with the exception of perhaps redundancy, which everyone knows as being associated with RAID). I say this, because they didn't mean much to me after I'd finished going to an IT trade school, nor after working in the field for several years as an IT professional, nor after achieving many different certifications (Cisco, Novell, Microsoft, A+, NET+, SECURITY+, etc...), and so on. When I ended up in college, however, working on my first B.S. Degree in Computer Science, these topics were discussed, because they are part of the planning process, when designing any network according to Best Practices.

So what have I just basically spelled out for you? In essence, Salesman/Saleswoman are not making recommendations based on these important considerations. In fact, the average IT guy isn't even making recommendations based on these important considerations, because it's beyond their education and understanding, despite the fact that when laid before a person, these topics seem pretty darn obvious. But just knowing the "term", however, doesn't mean that you know how to implement that benefit, into a server, network, phone system, or whatever.

So what could be some of the ways to implement these benefits? Well, I'll give you some examples. Let's consider what we might use for a server:

1. If I want redundancy (the ability to failover), I might consider a RAID array for my hard drive(s), so that if one fails, another can take its place, and I don't have to worry about my server crashing. I might also consider redundant power supplies, for the same reason. I might purchase a server that has 4 CPUs, so that if one fails, the system doesn't crash. I might consider redundant power for the server, and implement a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), and so on.

2. If I want to ensure availability to the server, I might consider having redundant network cards, so that if one dies, I can quickly switch to the other and regain network and/or Internet connectivity. I might consider virtualizing my server and creating a high availability configuration (where if my server fails, another replica server takes its place). I might implement redundant network switches, so that if one fails, desktops can still access the server. I might consider implementing redundant firewalls for the same reason, so that Internet access has the higest uptime, and so on.

3. If I want to ensure scalability for a new server, I might purchase hard drives that are double the size of the ones in an old server that I'm retiring. I might install twice as much RAM as the old system. I might also consider purchasing more CPUs, and so on. If I wanted scalability for the network, I might upgrade my switches from Ethernet to Gigabit, to handle larger traffic loads. I might consider upgrading network cards in desktops and servers to Gigabit also.

4. If I want to ensure performance for the server, many of the topics discussed under scalability also fall under "performance". Things like RAM, CPU, Hard Drives (in this case we're referring to how many RPMs a hard drive spins up-to), network speed (i.e.; Gigabit versus Ethernet), and so on...

5. Finally, if i wanted usability for the server, I might consider using a platform like Citrix XenApp, so that I only have to upgrade software on a single system, for all the users in my network. Or, I might consider XenServer or VMWare (server virtualization), so that I only have to maintain one piece of hardware, if I have multiple servers. I might consider an ILO card, to allow remote access to the server, and save me from having to drive onsite, if the server reboots over a weekend and doesn't come back online, and so on.

So in conclusion, if we really think on what we've just discussed, it's easy to see the importance of making a purchase from someone who knows what they're talking about. Someone who's going to make the best recommendation, based on your needs and budget. And finally, someone who can take care of you, and be your advocate to any vendors producing potentially faulty equipment. At MY WEBTEK, we stand behind our sales and our services. If it's not right, we'll work diligently to make it so. If it's a result of faulty hardware, we'll eat the labor on behalf of the vendor (applies to recommendations we make and sell, obviously), and work with the vendor on your behalf to get you a credit, replacement solution, etc...

Note: We also offer product procurement services for those IT businesses just getting started, which cannot meet Reseller requirements, for whatever reason (i.e.; perhaps you don't have enough employees to achieve the needed sales and/or technical certifications required, or you can't meet minimum annual sales quotas, etc...). Don't limit your purchasing abilities to the likes of CDW and the rest, who never have enough stock of a particular item, and who are going to charge you 1-3% below list price for an item. Instead, call MY WEBTEK today and get authorized as a purchaser. You'll get hardware, software, electronics, etc..., at just 1-3% above cost, leaving you the majority of the margin on hardware sales, software sales, electronics sales, etc.. (i.e.; instead of taking the majority). Terms and/or credit is availabe, and varies, based on credit scores, length of time in business, and so on... Medical Document Scanning
Medical Document Scanning

Are you in need of Document Scanning services for your medical practice? Whether you're a single provider physician's office, a physician's practice, or a chain of medical practices, MY WEBTEK offers services to fit not only your needs, but also your budget.

As an Information Technology (IT) Solutions Provider, whose customers are primary medical providers (Phoenix Childrens Hospital is one of our customers), adding Document Scanning services to our list of offerings just made "common sense". Why should our customers have 10 different phone numbers to call, to run their businesses?

What's even better, is that because we're not only an IT Solutions Provider, but also a Hardware/Software distributor, our cost for running a Document Scanning Service is 60% less than the competition (i.e.; we don't have to pay an IT Company to keep our infrastructure running, we pay COST for High Speed Scanners, Software, and PCs, and so on). As a result, we are able to pass this savings along to our customers, some of which have been existing customers of ours for IT Support, for years.

The end result, is that we have an advantage when it comes to competing on price. In fact, we'll beat any verifiable quote that you get for Document Scanning Services, hands down, by at least 10%.

If you have a need for Document Scanning Services, call MY WEBTEK today!!! We employ current and former medical office staff trained at handling medical documents, and whom are fully aware of HIPAA Law (Note: This is important, as many companies simply hire clerical staff, completely unfamiliar with the Medical Field in general, let alone HIPAA requirements). Trust our Experience to Manage Your Business' Document Scanning needs.

Cloud Computing
Cloud Computing

Cloud Computing is basically defined as a hosted service that one company provides on behalf of another. When it comes to Information Technology (IT), Cloud Computing normally refers to Hardware-as-a-Service (HaaS), Software-as-a-Service (Saas), or a Hybrid of the two. Depending on the location of the solution that's hosting the actual service (i.e.; outside the customer's network, or within it), you have either a "Public Cloud" or "Private Cloud" (Note: A Public Cloud refers to a solution hosted outside a customer's network, such as in a Data Center, for example. A Private Cloud would be a solution hosted within the customer's own network, but owned and maintained by the hosting provider, obviously. Hybrid Clouds are also possible here). Examples of Hardware-as-a-Service would include, hosted Phone Systems, Hosted Firewalls, Hosted Web Load Balancing, and so on. An example of Software-as-a-Service, would be Managed Services. And finally, examples of a Hybrid would include Thin Client Computing solutions, such as those built on Citrix XenApp (Presentation Server), and also hosted Server Virtualization, built on either VMWare or Citrix XenServer.

So now that we know that "Cloud Computing" is, what's the significance of using it? Well, to start with, it means you no longer have to worry about maintaing your own software or hardware. That means you don't have to worry about looking up hardware upgrades or watching the system for signs that hardware upgrades are needed. You also don't have to worry about replacing the hardware every 3-5 years. Furthermore, you don't have to worry about upgrading or patching software, or maintaining it (i.e.; uninstalling it, reinstalling it, or repairing it for end users). Finally, and perhaps most importantly, you don't have to worry about footing the bill for hardware or software, up-front. Rather, you are able to have manage-able monthly payments, over perhaps a one to two year contract (Note: Normally, the longer the term's length, the smaller the monthly payment).

A hosted "Cloud Computing" configuration is basically composed of whatever you want from a provider. You tell them what it is you want, and/or how you want it built, and they provide the software, hardware, and/or labor, and then build it for you accordingly. Not only that, but they then maintain it from that point on. In essence, it basically makes the solution hands-free, for one low (and more cost effective) monthly price, with perhaps a small deposit, depending on the total cost of hardware, software, and/or labor used to complete the initial build.

Now that we know what "Cloud Computing" is, here are some of the types of Cloud Computing configurations we are able to provide: (1) Hosted Email, (2) Hosted Anti-SPAM, (3) Hosted Backups (Onsite and/or Offsite), (4) Hosted Citrix XenApp Server, (5) Hosted Web Server, (6) Hosted File Server, (7) Hosted SharePoint Server, (8) Hosted Load Balancing, (9) Hosted Link Balancing, (10) Hosted Linux Servers, (11) Hosted Firewalls, (12) Hosted VPNs, (13) Hosted Database Servers, and (14) Hosted Networking Configurations. Pretty much anything you can think of, we can build it into a Cloud Computing model. If you're interested in Cloud Computing, or would like more information, contact MY WEBTEK today!!!
